This is the soundtrack played during the fashion show, it is a remix of an old Lebanese song "Al Bent el Chalabiyah" sang by the great Fayrouz. It is relevant to my collection as Lebanese culture played a big role in the research process, and the song recalls the love story between a young couple just like that of my grandparents. Please enjoy it while checking out my project.
Research Process
Research process; inspiration by old photographs, autograph book belonging to my grandfather, and the rose representing my grandmother and being the main motif throughout the collection.
Fabric Manipulation and Print Development
Accessories Development
The print is made of the Arabic letters that form the word "Rose" روز, I then played around with the placement and rotation of the letters to actually draw out the shape of a rose for the print. My grandmother's name was Rose and therefore is a big part of my grandfather's collection. I used this mold to create a pinky ring, cufflinks and a vest chain.
